Was up earlyish. Today is Lunar New Year’s day (CNY). Was able to get cleaned easily. Maybe it was the mandarin oranges. They always work a charm. Anyhow I made it to another year, officially. One of the snake sign. Did quite a bit of fixing SeTT last night, which I had thought was done with. No writing tho.
My Seiko 5 Sports gained 1s overnight, 3-5s per day if shaken about a bit. The charm of a mechanical watch. Worked out. Felt the cardio. Mom is still upset with Dad over my cousin staying over at the old house where her private papers are kept. I don’t think they’re going to scam us…?
Will be staying home today. Maybe walk / sit in the park an hour or so to heal, if it’s sunny.
Still amazed I found my grail watch for under 1kRM. I had wanted an Orient Star Royal or a Casio Gravity Master carbon. Both costing well upwards of 2kRM, thus unattainable on my budget. The Star Royal hand-winding is a classic while the GM is super advanced. In the end, I have a humble Seiko 5 -the first mechanical watch model I owned, reborn for 4x the price with a few bells and whistles added. It has good wrist presence, being compact / stout and murky dialed.

Back from the grocer and from the attached cafe. Had a lot to eat. May have to run to work it off later in the afternoon. Maybe 5pm. Mom was cold and is getting crotchety in her waning years. If only life were better for us all. SeTT now has a game replay function -the last thing I am adding as it’s circa 1.7k lines long now. Think I met the original spec quite closely.
Did some brisk walking around MegaMall. It was very festive. My cousin tried on a 3kRM diver’s watch -the pro 300m Citizen eco-drive. Nice but not really for daily wear. An EDC should be understated and inconspicuous. My Seiko 5 looks just like any stereotypical watch you’d see on anyone’s wrist while being very subtly good quality.
