Friday 5 September

Was up early. Planning a long walk circa 10am. Managed to get cleaned quite well after drinking a bit of prune juice last night. Mom is still backed up. She has a busy day, banking and visiting Grandma. Had a latte for breakfast and am feeling fine. Took a quick shower. Yet to brush.

...

Went out for a walk a little late. The streets and shops seemed barren, most closed. Found out it was Mohammed's birthday. Still, I got IS (my novella) printed and bound for 14RM. Not sure what to do with it. Maybe deposit it in a book nook somewhere, have to Google for it and travel there this Sunday.

Didn't walk very long but I climbed a pedestrian crossing and mostly skipped lunch, having just one charsiew pao. Not sure what's the status of my query for IS. I did two publishers some month or so ago. Feels good to have a hard copy for my own.

And I still can't seem to read Ivy's book "The American Boyfriend". Somehow it's not something that excites me. I also failed to read The City and the Stars by good ol' Arthur C. It was a bit slow moving, and I put it down prematurely.

After dinner to get cleaned again and take a shower. Will eat less today, try to diet a bit. Today is ABY 3f, “Marsh. Business, pleasure, and psychic powers” VANITY, LECHERY, AND LOUTISHNESS [the quotation is from Dr. W. K. Chu].

'Marsh' is apparently a time for sharing love and joy. Interesting that the Prophet was born on this day. My Book's title is 'IS' which stands for Inexact Science, so we have IS-علم (which is IS-alam) sounds like Mohammed's religion. Where I put it later will be important.

Got cleaned again easily and took a relaxing shower. Mom is still sitting by Grandma at the hospital with her maid who is Christian. They are at a Christian-run hospital. A good place to get to know God, even this late into life, with dementia and all, Mom included. The Lord works in mysterious ways.

Helped Mom make dinner as she was tired. We had a long day all of us. Folks ate some ice cream. Comforts and love are what make growing old more livable. Talked to kids deceived by the evil Liew 6. They are now more decent citizens of the mind. Most were saved but there are a few percent permanently damaged. We tossed them away.

Tempted to get a Casio glx-9600 tidegraph moonphase for circa 220RM. Will wait a few days. Mostly, I don’t really want to spend so much on non-essentials anymore.

Brushed, worked out and took my meds all circa 10pm. Incontinence by tickling struck again but was easily handled with just a wet wipe. There are so many dumping thru me and otherwise betraying me. Managed to scrape off some tartar buildup so it doesn’t become excessive under my retainer. Generally feeling better overall.

Past 11pm and I’ve been considering the cheapest binding method: saddle stapling. I will use soft card for the cover, and color printing on the front with some advertising in b/w on the back saying it is a low cost edition. Sneaky me. If I can print 10 copies, it should cost 130RM+. Will work on the cover tomorrow. I have some idea what I want.
